Fire Protection Glass
We offer a wide range of fire-resistant glass options with varying levels of protection to suit your needs. Protection levels are measured in defined time periods (30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 minutes) and in terms of either integrity and insulation or integrity only, as designated by the European Standards.
To ensure the expected fire performance is achieved, should it be called upon, fire or heat-resistant glass must always be specified as part of a tested and approved glazing system and installed by specialists.
Fire protection made transparent!
Today modern architecture favours transparency even far beyond the facade: the architects prefer natural light and open spaces to determine the design of large buildings right down to their structural core. Wherever these “open” concepts meet local construction and fire safety requirements for the protection of human life and property, transparent fire-resistant glazing comes into play. This allows modern, bright and open space design, as well as safety to be combined in a variety of multi-functional systems.
Pilkington fire-resistant glass is represented in several hundred fully tested and approved glazing systems. This includes doors and partitions of various framing materials and designs, facades and roof glazing and more recently even the first fire-resistant sliding doors and windows.
Fire-resistant Glass with an Added Value!
Pilkington now offers 10 years guarantee on all cut size circumferentially framed fire-resistant glass supplied by Pilkington Deutschland AG for its product lines Pilkington Pyrostop® and Pilkington Pyrodur®. The guarantee primarily covers significant development of clouds of haze of fire-resistant glass interlayer - a claim which would be associated with significant cost for the building owner or facility management.
